Back to Cross Stitch

I am back. I have been kind of missing in action lately. I had to take some time and focus on some other things for a bit but I am back to my cross stitch and can’t wait to meet new online stitchers and connect with some of my old favorites.

So, I haven’t been on here but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been busy. And this time of year is always crazy! But fun, it is my favorite time of year. Lots and lots going on now. My amazing son is home from the Air Force for a short time between tech school and his first base so I am one happy Mama. Love to have him home with me and back in our chaos.

Getting ready for my grandson to turn 4 in a couple of days and then on to Thanksgiving, my husband’s birthday, my daughter’s birthday and then finally, Christmas! What an awesome time of the year. We have really been enjoying the wonderful colors of the leaves turning here in the mountains of Tennessee. It is just stunning!

Color is really my thing. I just love anything to do with color. I think that is one of the reasons that I love cross stitch so much. Nothing beats watching the colors combine and come together to make what truly becomes a work of art. I think that is what draws me to full coverage patterns a lot too that don’t use backstitching to bring the details out. It is all done just by changing the colors.

New listings will be coming out this week as usual, both on my site here and on Etsy if you prefer to shop there. I will let you know more details on the ones coming out this week. We are working round the clock right now updating and revising our patterns and listings. We will be adding a color pdf to all listings now so that you can have both black and white and color, depending on your preference.

Also, adding some new things of note. We have had a lot of questions lately that we are going to try to make clearer in our listings. For example, on many of our designs the background is black. Our patterns will always include that black as stitches because so many people would rather stitch the whole background on white than work on black fabric. Obviously, if you are stitching the design on black fabric, you can just disregard those stitches. Apparently, this has confused people so we will be adding this information to all listings.

We are in the process of adding kits for each pattern also. Any pattern that we offer can also be purchased as a kit so just let me know if there is one that you would like as a kit that isn’t on the site or Etsy yet and I will get it up for you.

I am back to stitching on my ice dragon. I can’t wait to finish this one and get it framed for my wall. I think the colors are going to be amazing on the blue fabric I am doing it on. I have a couple of new ones to get started stitching on too. Pics to come.

Have a happy stitching day everyone!!

Is Cross Stitch Your Therapy?

So, it is a whole big bag of emotions in my life today. One of my sons left for Air Force Basic Training. I am very proud of him but at the same time, my mom heart is breaking. When I got home from the swearing in I had planned on doing some work but I just couldn’t seem to get in the swing of things. I finally gave up and settled into my favorite chair with a WIP that I love and let the colors and the rhythm of the stitching soothe me. What a comfort and blessing in what has recently become a rather complicated life! It seems cross stitch has become my therapy over the years and I think I am ok with that.
